New England Update
Here's a long over New England sports update, with a touch of moderation-
This past week the Red Sox got considerably better adding power hitting first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, and speedy, versatile outfielder Carl Crawford. The Red Sox gave up some highly regarded prospects to acquire Gonzalez, and will pay hundreds of millions of dollars to keep the pair on board for the coming years. Great. The Red Sox will be better next season. We'll come back to this in April, when you know, they start playing the games that count. Good work front office.
The Pats made the Jets look like the Carolina Panthers Monday night with that 45-3 shellacking. Normally blowouts don't interest me as the game has long been decided by the end of game. What's left to watch? But this was an exception- I hate the Jets, Mark Sanchez's face (that goes without saying), and hype that billed game as "the game of the year" and "the most important regular season game in the history of the New England Patriots." How can a game with no playoff berths online the line carry that weight? Get over yourselves people. The most important event isn't already happening "now." With that said, the Pats looked great, it was fun to whoop the Jets, but the Pats haven't locked up anything yet. Let's see how the next few weeks go.
I love the B's. Thomas is on fire. The B's will make the playoffs. Home ice has a minimal impact on the outcome of series (didn't look it up), so if the B's stay healthy and get hot at the right time, and Thomas keeps up this unmaintainable pace, they'll win the cup. Plain and simple.
The Celtics are the best team in the NBA right now. This is the best team they've had in my lifetime. Of the starting five, four are all star caliber players. (Is Ray Allen still up there?) Though Shaq, not one of the four, will probably be an all star anyways. Really the bench is the key to this team. Glen Davis and his solid mid range jumper and inside play, make him a sixth man the Celts can count on. I like Daniels, Erden, and West too. Once Perk comes back- look out NBA. The Celts are lookin good.
That's it for now. Maybe we can wake up Timmy or Imran. How're you guys doing?

Deion Branch Acquired
After dealing Randy Moss to the Vikings for a 3rd round draft pick, the Patriots executed the second part of a two-pronged effort to make real life NFL rosters more accurate to Sega Sports' Madden 2K2 rosters. The Patriots have acquired a 31-year old Deion Branch for a 4th round draft pick. Branch was originally traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a first-round draft pick that was used to acquire Brandon Meriweather in 2007.

Pats Win
I doubted them completely. I DVRed my way through an hour of commercials. Pats squish the fish. Everyone happy. Go team.
