Gonzalez tells teammates he's not bitter about failed trade request
About a week ago today Tony Gonzalez, perennial All-Pro tightend for the now rebuilding Kansas Chiefs, requested a trade to a contending team. After the Tuesday night NFL trade deadline passed without Gonzalez being dealt, the entire country was on the edge of its seat. All day Wednesday the only question anybody seemed to be asking around the country (the US) was- would Tony Gonzalez... be bitter?
All day Wednesday I was a mess. I just couldn't cope. I was dying to know if a post-trade-deadline-untraded-Tony-Gonzalez would be bitter for not being swapped for a measly third round pick. I couldn't escape the anticipation!
Thank the universe that on October 15th at 7:34 Argie time, ESPN broke the news that Tony Gonzalez was not bitter about not being traded. Phew. Now we can all sleep.
I don't know what I would do without ESPN reporting on such hot topic stories.
