I'm Bored and Rajon Rondo just tore up the Jazz

Tonight the Celtics beat the Jazz by a good 10 points on the strength on one of the best games of Rajon Rondo's career. Rajon was clearly he focus of the offense tonight- maybe even by design. It was clear from the beginning that he could take Deron Williams off the dribble, and Doc Rivers had no problem with Rondo taking the offensive load on his shoulder and repeatedly driving to the hole. Deron Williams didn't have a terrible game offensively scoring 15 and helping on 7, but for a guy who is continuously mentioned in the same breath as Chris Paul- that's a little weak. Defensively however Williams was a joke. Rondo ended up with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, and ultimately was responsible for Williams fouling out late in the game. Rondo is now undoubtedly one of the best 10 point guards in the league, and on any given night can even outplay some of its very best.

Thank the universe that Danny Ainge refused to include Rondo in either the Ray Allen or Kevin Garnett deals- he knew Rondo was going to be a special player. He can't shoot, he's afraid to take lay ups, but he is damn quick, plays better "point guard defense" according to credible source Tommy Heinsohn, and has that sweet fake behind pass signature move. Is he an all star? You bet.

*I didn't get to see the Celts/Hornets game on Friday, but did look at the box score. Rondo didn't have the same success against Chris Paul, but hey- hes CHRIS PAUL, and we still won the game.

Is Corey Maggette going to drop 60? That's really the only way the Warriors would have a chance.
