Leigh Bodden
Shawn Springs
Fred Taylor
Joey Galloway
Chris Baker
Did I miss any other signed players that could have an impact so far? It's pretty nice to see us finally getting cornerbacks that are over 6 feet tall. I guess it's too much to hope that in some freak event, Aaron Curry lasts until our pick in the second round?

Dude I don't know what my deal is, but I cannot bring myself to write anything on the blog.
Joey Galloway is definitely a sweet addition. I'll now state what you already know- Randy Moss is a freak, and with Galloway attracted more attention deep with his impressive speed, Welker will be wide open all day underneath.
Fred Taylor is Corey Dillon. (though I think less good than the first year we had Dillon)
This Pats receiving core may be (it is) the best we've ever had. Suck on that Other31teams.
Hopefully Shawn Springs can break the Patriots' recent trend of signing completely useless/washed-up veteran defensive backs and actually, you know, defend a wide receiver.
I haven't looked at draft prospects, but I'm hopeful.
I'm actually really excited about Fred Taylor because his primary problem has always been injuries. That would be huge if he was going to be our primary HB, but the thing is, our backfield is so deep that I don't foresee him getting any significant wear and tear/stress injuries.
We don't really have a primary RB at this point, since Maroney didn't really pan out, but who knows? Our format seemed to be working last season, and with a quarterback like Brady in full form, two deep threat receivers, and arguably the best slot receiver in the game, we're looking pretty beastly on paper.
Of course, I'd feel better if we managed to get a dominant pass-rushing DE in the draft. Curry would be good, but despite the original post, we really don't need a cover LB right now.
Oh and our receiving corp will basically be the same as it was in the '07 to '08 season.
Donte Stallworth = Joey Galloway as far as the speed goes. Donte Stallworth also got injured like he was 37 years old.
Stallworth had a crappy year for the Patriots. Maybe it was because we just didn't throw to him, or maybe because he just sucks, but I think that 2009 Galloway will be better than 2007 Stallworth.
Also- You think we're deep at running back???
1. Lawrence Maroney sucks. Period. Is he even coming back for sure? Does anyone think he is good? I'll debate this.
2. Sammy Morris. Sometime injured. Generally okay to above average.
3. BenJarvis GreenEllis- honestly I don't know the guy. I missed last year with outofthecountryitis. Is he any good?
4. Kevin Faulk - okay he's the man- no debate
5. Fred Taylor- established running back.
On second thought maybe we are deep at RB. Either that or we're wide (we have a lot of guys), but shallow (we have little talent/little left in the tank).
What I'm trying to say is that I don't think we're set at RB. Fred Taylor is obviously a temporary solution to a never ending problem.
I think it would be dumb to waste a high pick on a running back, but I'm not against taking one somewhere along the line.
I really really hope they give Green-Ellis a shot in the next year or two. I don't know how he performs on the practice squad or wherever the hell he is half the time, but he really looked like Maroney should have looked last year the few plays that he was involved in.
As for Fred Taylor being a temp. thing -- yeah, we essentially need stop-gap solutions until Maroney either emerges or his contract runs out.
I thought his contract was up now... apparently not... next year maybe???
