Bruins Shakeup

Out goes Kobasew and his $2.2mil cap figure, 20 goal seasons, and apparently shoddy penalty defense (at least that is what they tell me). In comes a hoard of draft picks that I don't particularly care about- mainly because draft picks don't play defense or score many goals. It's kind of sad that we have trade a quality player just so we can have cap space to bring up other guys. I suppose that's the way life is with a cap.

I always liked Chuck, but we now get to see what call-ups Brad Marchand and Vladimir Sobotka have to offer. Hopefully they can give us some kind of boost (along with Daniel Paille acquired today for a meaningless 4th round pick) to get the Bruins out of this mini-funk.

Come on B's!

Marchand and Sobotka are very popular in the Bruins organization and with the fans of the P-Bruins. Sobotka has played with the big guys a couple of times and I liked what I saw...and I've only heard good things about Marchand. It's always excited to see the new kids.

Also, the B's just picked up another penalty killer in Daniel Paille--probably to make up for the loss of Axe on the PK.
