OK, so I was completely wrong about the NL.

This just goes to show how little I know about the National League. I got both series' wrong--granted, one because I just felt as though there had to be an upset in there somewhere--and wasn't even close with the Cubs. I'm starting to feel as though they might legitimately suffer through 200 years without a championship. I really feel bad for that team.

On another note--Jon Lester is an absolute stud (and I was right with my Red Sox in 4 prediction, no big deal. I was close with the Rays series, too. That's right, I'm tooting my own horn, but when you really think about that phrase, does anyone usually toot anyone else's horn?) . I'm actually quite sure he's a robot, or at least a well-oiled machine that only knows how to throw absolute gems constantly. I'm almost more impressed with his ability to not laugh at his opponents when they flail wildly at a 78 mph curveball that comes after a 97 mph heater that paints the outside corner. I'm also most disappointed in said opponents for not forfeiting every single game that he starts. At the very least, it would leave an extra 3 hour time slot for Sox Appeal on NESN.

Random: 1
I'm not sure how bad this is, but last night was the first time I had ever heard of the "1-seam fastball." I had heard of a 4-seamer, and a 2-seamer, but never a 1-seamer.

For now, I'm holding off on predictions. I'm just going to go about my business and wear my "Pedroia the Destroia" shirt every game night (2-0 when I wear that bad boy), and hope that the Sox can pull an "upset" and make it to the World Series. Again. ZzZzZzZzZz.

Cubs- now THAT is how you choke. Zambrano, Harden, Dempster, Soriano- be ashamed.

I want to take back my three-headed-monster description of the Sox shorten playoff rotation. I don't have a lot of faith in Daisuke. In now 5 postseason starts he hasn't lasted longer than 5 1/3 innings. Every playoff start I now expect 5IP, 3 ER, and at least 3 getting-out-of-bases-loaded-jams. I can't think of a Bill Simmons caliber comparison for this pattern, but it scares me.

Pedroia the Destroia- (1-17)... though his RBI double in game 4 was much appreciated.

Is anybody still waiting for the Rays to fold? Not gonna happen. This series is going to be competitive. Longoria and Upton have absolutely come to play.

Pedroia the Destroia was 1-17, but could have easily been 10-17 with the way he was hitting the ball. Got a home run robbed, and was largely hitting rockets directly at defensive players. The Angels were lucky to even play 4 games, because if his aim was just a little better, they would have been sent packing after game 3.

I'm looking forward to the Rays series...should be fun.

And I realize the "largely hitting rockets" makes no sense. You get my point.
