third string quaterback's first ever mailbag

I should absolutely be writing one or two essays right now, but saw that Timbo wrote an article and now feel compelled to do so myself. While I was considering writing a long and well thought analysis of the over-coverage, anti-Patriotism, and excesses of EPSN, I decided that such a task would have required the exact research and well thought out analysis I'm trying to avoid by not writing my essays. I do however believe that it is time for 3rd-string-qb's first ever mailbag. As always these are questions I made up because we don't have actual readers.

What is your level of depression following the Sox elimination from the playoffs?

Actually, surprisingly and even embarrassingly low. Maybe it's because I have no Sox fans to wallow in misery with in Argentina, or because really the Devil Rays were just the better team... I dunno. But with Beckett pitching hurt, the absence of Mike Lowell, the death of Jason Varitek as a hitter, and Jason Bay playing well, but without the super-clutchness of Manny Ramirez. It just wasn't our year.

Two weeks in how are you feeling about your blockbuster trade that sent Kurt Warner, Joe Addai, and Laverneus Coles to Team Jim Gaffigan for rookie sensation Chris Johnson, TO, and backup fantasty QB David Garrard?

Thanks for asking. Well, since the trade I've gone 1-1, but have repositioned myself atop the Hudson NFL League standings. I hated Joe Addai, so I'm glad that injury prone tool is off my team. I mean he'll still get points seeing as he plays for the Colts and their high powered offense (actually nevermind). Scratch that-reverse it. The Colts suck and Addai's production is going down with them (if he can ever get back on the field).
I have always hated Terrell Owens. I thought I'd bite the bullet and take him because love or hate him, the man scores touchdowns. That failed. Fortunately there is Chris Johnson, who will be suiting up for the Tyler Durdens for the foreseeable future as he is close to solidifying himself as a 2009 keeper.

Will The Tyler Durdens repeat?

Absolutely, unequivocally, and undeniably yes.

I just finished reading Timbo's posting about the media hating on the Patriots. Why would they specifically target the Patriots? What's their motive?
The Patriots are now the most hated team in all major sports in America. Do other people hate the Yankees or is just us? We broke the official league rules and got caught, regardless of whether or not it is a common league wide practice is insignificant to the mass media. The Pat's are going to carry that negative stigma for a long time. Another reason they get the extra attention is because they are so damn good. People could care less if the Dolphins cheated a bit to beat the mighty Patriots (btw was that the game the Pats lost 21-0?). When you're on top, people want to knock you down.

Will the Celtics repeat as NBA champions in 2008-2009?

I don't think so. I (along with the rest of the NBA watching world) know that the Celtic's will feel the loss of James Posey. It might stay hidden for a while in the regular season, but will certainly come out in playoffs when the Celts have to guard guys like Lebron, and Kobe every single night. I don't believe that it's the loss of Posey as much as the improvement of other teams that will keep the Celtics from winning another title. Lebron James teamed with Mo Williams makes the Cavs primed for a big year, the Hornets (even without Posey) are damn good, and the Rockets have added Ron Artest and are getting back Yao Ming. I'd say the Lakers have improved with the return of Andrew Bynum, but he hasn't shown he can produce for any serious amount of time. So no, I think either New Orleans, Houston, or Cleveland takes home the title. Real risky picks I know. The Celtics do still have a serious title shot, and I will consider them the favorite if Rajon Rondo morphs into the freak we all know he can be this season. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

That's all for now. I'm off to procrastinate and wait for the start of the Celts-Cavs game. Here we go!

I just want to say this about EPSN. Maybe I'll write a serious article later on, but for now I'll say this. I love ESPN for it's world wide availability, 24-7 coverage, and free fantasy leagues, but somehow anything and everything in the sports world today is a story. Vince Young having personal issues that he talks with his family about should be just that. PERSONAL ISSUES THAT HE TALKS WITH HIS FAMILY ABOUT, not a freaking national story. Shame on you ESPN.

I think the C's defense will still reign this year
