2007 Josh Beckett is back! 7IP 2hits 10k 1ER
I know Jacoby is somewhat untouchable since he was one of the key players in the 2007 World Series run... but if you stretched out his stats from yesterday's game over the entire season, he would set league records for batting incompetence. .000avg. 0 hr 0rbi 162ks in 648abs. Anyone with any sense of the game can see that this is unacceptable.
DP continues to be THE Man.
Varitek looked much better at the plate than he did last year. He's toned down his rocking-back-and-forth pre swing antics in favor for some more stability (and presumably control). He was only 1-4 yesterday (with a homer) but he hit the ball hard in each of his at bats.

So far not so good for V-Tek... 5-25 (.200 BA)... but then again, everyone has been shitting the bed lately
